Cute As A Button

I am trying to enjoy summerly colors while we can. Our summer is too short!!

For this look, I first painted my nails with Essie Resort Fling (coral orange), Essie Find Me An Oasis (pale blue), and Essie Cocktails & Coconuts (beige). I stamped button design from MoYou London Princess Collection 09, using Mundo de Unas stamping polish 53, 12, and 6.

I stamped the alphabet design on one of my right hand nails but the color was a bit too pale... Oh well...

I wanted to try these colors from Essie Resort Collection for a while. But maybe I should have used just two colors and not three... It looks a bit too busy, don't you think?

Have you tried these colors? Which one is your favorite from this collection?

Nautical Nails!

Here is the nautical look I created this week!

I quite like how it came out!

For this look, I first painted my nails with Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Ivory Skull (white), Ceramic Glaze My Skinny Jeans (navy blue), and Essie Style Hunter (red). I used Bundle Monster image plates BM-401. BM-407, and BM-414 for various nautical theme designs. I used Ceramic Glaze My Skinny Jeans and Mundo de Unas 1 as stamping polish.

My right hand with an octopus!!

It is a fun look I think you can only wear during the summer, so take the advantage!

Have you done any nautical theme nails this summer?

Yellow and Grey... and a Cat!

I picked up a few shades of new Sally Hansen pastel collection the other day. I particularly liked this pastel yellow!

I paired the yellow with grey and silver. And just for fun, I stamped cat paw prints!

For this look, I first painted my nails with Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Teeny Bikini (pastel yellow), Joe Fresh Fog (grey), and OPI It's Frosty Outside (silver liquid sand). I used my new Mundo de Unas stamping polish 1 (white) to stamp the pattern design from MoYou London Princess Collection 08. I also stamped a little cat and paw prints from Konad plate M91 using Joe Fresh Fog as stamping polish.

You met one of my kitties before here. This look is inspired by my other kitty!

She is quite mischievous... Walking on my nails to leave her paw prints is exactly a kind of things she does...

Does your pet inspire you?

Fuchsia and Purple Swirl

I'm not usually a pink nail person but I really liked this fuchsia pink polish, Essie The Girls Are Out!

I had the bottle of Essie Full Steam Ahead next to it and I wanted to use both of them on my nails. They are both from Naughty Nautical collection and these are my dollar store finds if you read my previous post here

For this look, I painted my nails with Essie The Girls Are Out (fuchsia) and Essie Full Steam Ahead (lilac). I used the swirl design from MoYou London Princess Collection 09 with stamping polish Mundo de Unas 21.

After wearing this look for a few days, I have decided to mattify it. It looks great!

I liked both of these looks quite a bit. Even though I usually don't wear pink polish, occasional cute girly look is acceptable.

Do you wear pink polish often? What is your favorite pink?

Mundo de Unas Stamping Polish Review!

I finally got the package from Mundo de Unas! It took a really really long time to get here (over a month!) I guess it was sitting at the customs for a while, which we don't have any control over...

Well, they are so pretty!! They were all wrapped in plastic wrap and packed neatly in a little box. Non of them were damaged (thank goodness!) I was like a little kid in a candy store happily unwrapping each bottle!!!

And there was this cute note on top! Very nice! I ordered total of 20 bottles. I decided to order mostly mini bottles because I wanted to try as many colors as possible. I only ordered white in big bottle because I knew I will use it a lot. The shipping is based on how many mini or big bottles you are ordering, so without going into the higher rate, the max number I could get was 19 mini and 1 big bottle (my shipping cost was $12 but they have new rate now, which is actually lower at $10 for the amount I ordered and to the area in North America.)

I tested a few colors already and they work great for stamping. By the way, these are supposed to be used for stamping only. It is too thick to paint your nails with. They show very well over dark colors, which is the main benefit of these special polishes. I read some reviews about the smell being very strong but I didn't find that at all. I also read somewhere the formula has been modified to eliminate the strong smell, so maybe my batch were re-formulated ones.

You can order these from here. Silvia gave me a big bottle of 35 Blue Gray instead of mini I ordered as a gift. I really appreciate these little gestures!

Have you tried Mundo de Unas polish?

French Provence Inspired!

I went to a local lavender festival recently. I love lavender and I use it for cooking as well as enjoy the fragrance. I make lavender shortbread cookies and lavender macarons when I feel like it and I use Herb de Provence for many of my cooking! When I visited French Provence years ago, I bought a lot of sachets of lavender and Herb de Provence. I always associate Provence with the colors yellow and blue!

One of the sachets I bought in Provence years ago...

It's on my country kitchen cupboard!

For this look, I first painted my nails with Sally Hansen Teeny Bikini (pastel yellow) and Essie Boxer Shorts (periwinkle). I used Kiko polish 337 as stamping polish and stamped a design from Pueen Plate 56.

I always have trouble capturing the true color of periwinkle in my photos. It looks so different in pictures but in real life, it is more lavender blue color. The color of English lavender flowers.

Macarons I made last summer. Macha green tea, Lavender, and strawberry macarons!

Do you like lavender? Have you tried using it in cooking?
