Stripes and Hearts!

This might be a good nail design for Valentine's day!

It took quite a long time to do this nail look! While cleaning all 10 fingers after stamping stripes, I was thinking, " this is why I hardly ever stamp on all of my nails!" Yup. The cleaning can take a while, just so you know.

For this look, I first painted my nails with OPI I Cannoli Wear OPI (greyish white). I used the stripe design from Bundle Monster plate BM-411. I didn't have any plate that had horizontal stripes so I used the vertical one but stamped sideways. (It only works if you have shorter nail length!) The stamping polish I used was Mundo de Unas 2. After stamping stripes, I used heart design from the same plate BM-411 to do the direct decal method on a few on my nails. The reason for the direct decal method was the original heart design is not a solid one and I wanted the solid heart and also the design had to be very well pigmented not to show black stripes underneath. So yes, this look took a loooong time to achieve!

My inspiration? My new morning cup!

Even though it took a long time for this design, I got quite a few compliments!

What do you think of stripes and hearts together?

Houndstooth!

Do you know that this is my first houndstooth nails?? Like I mentioned a few posts ago, I find myself leaning towards traditional patterns such as plaid, chevron, etc. recently!

And of course, I had to match my outfit!

For this look, I first painted my nails with Essie Stylenomics (almost-black dark green) and OPI I Cannoli Wear OPI (greyish white). I used houndstooth design from MoYou London The Pro Collection plate 04 and Konad Black Pearl stamping polish.

I thought I might repaint one of the black nails with something gold or silver like Essie Jiggle Hi, Jiggle Low to dress it up a bit. But a week went by and I didn't have a chance to do so until just now on day 7!

I was too lazy to take the polish off so just painted over the black... And appologies for slightly chipped tips of my nails... Well, at least you can see how it looks with this version!

Which version do you like? Are you a fan of houndstooth design?

Still in Plaid Mode!

I'm still in plaid mode!

I didn't buy any winter nail polish collection so far this winter. I didn't find any color particularly appealing nor unique... So when I do my nails these days, I look into older polish collections. I used the last season OPI Nordic collection for this design. Come to think of it, I don't think I used these colors much last season. It's good to get a chance to use them finally!

For this look, I first painted my nails with OPI My Dogsled is a Hybrid (teal green) and OPI Do You Have this Color in Stock-holm? (Dark purple). I used MoYou London Hipster Collection plate 06 for plaid design and double stamped, using OPI Do You Have this Color in Stock-holm? and Essie Jiggle Hi, Jiggle Low as stamping polish.

I love the color combination and how the plaid double stamping came out! I'm also loving plaid design so much this season that I can't stop wearing them!!

Are you into plaids?

Glamorous Tribal!

Can you be glamorous and tribal at the same time? Yes, you can!

I loved and used China Glaze Happy Campers mini set quite a bit in my recent nail designs. You can read my review here. One of the colors that I haven't had a chance to use was this Wood You Wanna? It is bronze brown shimmer polish, which I think is quite unique. It is also a good stamping polish because it is a one-coater!!

For this look, I first painted my nails with China Glaze Wood You Wanna? (bronze brown) and OPI My Vampire Is Buff (creamy white). I used a tribal design from Bundle Monster plate BM-XL116 for stamping. As I mentioned, I used Wood You Wanna? as stamping polish.

I really like the unusual combination of tribal design and glam polish color. It is fun to try something new!

The beautiful tribal scarf in the background is a Christmas gift from my beloved daughter!

Do you experiment with tribal designs?

Winter Chevrons!

Happy New Year! This Winter, I find myself using more patterns than fine details for my nails. I did a plaid here. This one is a chevron design!

I used the chevron design from Bundle Monster plate BM-423. But this one is a bit problematic. Because of the thick lines of the design, it is quite difficult to have the design crisp looking. A bit fading here and there. In this case, I used gold silver polish so it is not as noticeable. But if you are using other color polish, just be aware the lines might not look perfect...

For this look, I first painted my nails with Essie Style Cartel (dark blue). I used Bundle Monster plate BM-423 for chevron design and Essie Jiggle Hi, Jiggle Low (gold silver) as stamping polish.

Accesorizing here with my scarf and a bracelet!

The color combination of navy and silvery gold is very elegant. I really enjoyed wearing this look for a week!

Do you like chevron designs on your nails?
