Green Thumb - Garden Nails

Today's post is inspired by my beloved son! Just the other day, we were talking about gardening and how my gardening skill has improved (remember this post?) I was jokingly showing my thumbs, which were orange at the time then, and said to him, "see how green they are?" And he said, "why don't you paint them green and stamp some vines or something..." Hey! It's a great idea!!

So that's how I got the inspiration for this look!

First, I painted my nails with Essie Navigate Her (green) and OPI My Vampire Is Buff (creamy white). For stamping, I used MoYou London Mother Nature 05 for most of my nails and MoYou London Pro 09 for the humming bird design. I used Konad white and Essie Vested Interest as stamping polish and used Essie Size Matters to add little red flowers. I am also trying H K Girl top coat to see how this compares to my regular top coat, Seche Vite. I will keep you posted on the result.

I don't usually stamp on all of my nails... But I thought it would be alright in this case because the colors are muted tones and designs are not too busy.

I hope we get to do some gardening this weekend! Are your thumbs green?

Hawaiian

I went to check out the new shopping mall in my area yesterday! It was a lot bigger than I thought (a pleasant surprise!) And I found Ulta there! It's a small one but it's 10 minutes drive for me. Yay! They had "buy 1 and get 1 free" on OPI. I bought a back-up bottle of My Vampire Is Buff and also Where Did Suzi's Man-Go? from Brazil collection. This mango orange color inspired me to the Hawaiian look!

For this look, I painted my nails with OPI Where Did Suzi's Man-Go? (orange) and OPI French Quarter For Your Thoughts (taupe). I used Pueen plate 72 to stamp flower design with Konad white stamping polish.

I have a few orange polish bottles already but I think I like this formula a lot. Pretty opaque in one coat.

Do you like orange? What is your favorite orange polish?

Summery Shades

The weather is not quite there yet but I am feeling summery shades.

I like the combination of baby blue and tan. And just add a bit of orange color for an accent.

For this look, I painted my nails with Joe Fresh Wave (baby blue) and Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Dune (beige). I stamped flower design from MoYou London Pro Collection 08 using Joe Fresh Tigerlily as stamping polish. I free-handed blue lines on one of my beige nail.

This is the first time I used this beige polish, Dune. I actually like this shade on me. Very good formula and it was very easy to apply. And two coats made decent coverage. Good nude tone on my skin color.

I like Joe Fresh Wave. I had this polish for a while. A year? Two years?? Quite pigmented for light color and I only did two coats. I must admit that I am terrible with free-hand lines... I have a stamping plate with lines (Bundle Monster plate BM-411), but this polish wasn't opaque enough to show well and I have decided to just free-hand lines with a small brush.

What combination of colors remind you of summer?

Turquoise and Plaid

This is the look of my beloved daughter's nails this week!

If you read one of my previous post here, you may remember that I wished I had a plaid nail design plate. Shortly after that post, I found out MoYou London just released a plaid plate (their new hipster collection). Someone read my mind?? I immediately ordered this plate, Hipster collection 06.

Plaid, plaid, and more plaid! The entire plate is plaid design! I am spoiled now!!

For this look, she first painted her nails with Nails Inc. Haymarket (turquoise). She used MoYou London Hipster collection 06 to stamp with Essie Mind Your Mittens as stamping polish.

She told me it was a bit hard to align the design on her nails and the stamp on her thumb came out a bit crooked. But I know it is very hard to align any design that involves straight lines and I personally think she did a great job!

Have you tried this design plate? What is your favorite pattern?

Birds!

I must post my beloved daughter's nails! Again, she did it all by herself. I'm so proud!

For this look, she painted her nails with OPI My Vampire is Buff and Essie Sew Psyched. Then stamped using MoYou London Mother Nature plate 02 with Ceramic Glaze My Skinny Jeans. Finally, she used a dotting tool to put a little details with Essie Size Matters.

This plate has a lot of different birds on it! It's a great plate to have for bird lovers like us!!

Can you identify the birds on her nails? Do you have favorite bird design plate?

Mini Minnie Review

I bought this mini set quite a while ago but didn't have an opportunity to use it until now.

I am not a huge fan of red polish (I find them to be too much for me!) and that is probably the main reason I didn't try this set for this long. But my inspiration called for red polish this time.

For this look, I first painted my nails with OPI My Vampire Is Buff (creamy white), OPI Innie Minnie Mightie Bow (red), and OPI Magazine Cover Mouse (red liquid sand finish). For stamping, I used a floral design from MoYou London Pro Collection 07 plate. I used Essie Size Matters as stamping color on white nails and Color Club Harp on It for red accent nail.

This set includes A Definite Moust-Have, Magazine Cover Mouse, Chic from Ears to Tail, and Innie Minnie Mightie Bow. I only used two colors from this set but both of them had very good coverage. One-coater pretty much but I used two coats.

My inspiration is from this cushion!

You can see one of my cute kitties in the picture as a bonus!

Have you tried any polish from this collection?

Tribal Nails 2

As promised on my last post, here is the tribal design my beloved daughter did!

Her design is a lot more colorful than my look I did here

For this look, she used Sally Hansen Insta-Dri In a Splash (pistatio color) and Joe Fresh Tigerlily (orange) to paint her nails. And she stamped designs from Bundle Monster plates 402 & 403 with Konad Black Pearl stamping polish.

I am so happy to see my beloved daughter started to do her own stamping!!! :)

Which take of the tribal design do you like? Do you feel like using tribal designs?

Tribal Nails 1

I'm in mood for tribal designs.

The inspiration came from this t-shirt!

For this look, I first painted my nails with OPI My Vampire is Buff (creamy white) and OPI 4 in the Morning (matte black). I stamped the design (that looks like tribal to me) from Pueen plate 38 using Konad black pearl stamping polish. And finished with matte top coat.

My right hand with slight difference!

The next post will be the tribal design my beloved daughter did on her nails! Stay tuned!!!

Do you like tribal designs? Do you get inspiration from your clothing?
