Comfy In Cashmere!

I did the review of Essie Cashmere Matte collection a while ago here. This is a look I created using Comfy In Cashmere!

I almost passed on this color because it didn't look that special in a bottle... But my beloved wise daughter said, "YOLO!" So, I bought it as well as the other 3 colors from this collection, Coat Couture, Spun In Luxe, and Just Stiched. I'm glad I got it. Once I put it on my nails, wow, I just love the gentle smoky mauve color! It has blue shimmer that is quite noticeable and matte finish is gorgeous!

For this look, I first paired my nails with Essie Comfy In Cashmere (2 coats over base coat). I stampted a floral design from Bundle Monster plate BM-715 with Konad white stamping polish. I left it without top coat for the matte look. 

I don't know if you can see the true color from pictures. It is not brown. It's more purplish in real life. 

Do you see the blue shimmer? LOVELY!!

Pink and Black... Again

Ok. I just did pink and black, I know... But I wasn't quite ready to part ways with this lovely pale pink.

This time I made them matte! 

For this look, I first painted my nails with Essie Romper Room (pale pink) and OPI 4 in the Morning (matte satin black). I stamped the design from Messy Mansion Lead Light Lacquer plate A03 with Konad Black Pearl stamping polish. I top coated with HK Girl and after that applied NYC matte top coat. 

I quite like this matte look! I don't usually mattify my nails but I guess I'm in the mood for the matte look.

Pink and Inked!

I used to be a pink person. I had a lot of clothes, accessories, etc. that were various shades of pink. Now, though, I came out of pink phase and hardly wear pink clothing... Age, perhaps?! 

I have a few pink polish but I wear them rarely. A lot of times, I feel they look too sweet to me. Like too much sugar icing feeling... So, I had to add a touch of salt (edgy look) to make it less sugary. 

For this look, I first painted my nails with Essie Romper Room (pale pink). I stamped one of floral design from Messy Mansion Lead Light Lacquer plate A03 with Konad Black Pearl stamping polish. 

I just used this same design a few weeks ago and I don't usually like to repeat the same pattern too often. But I wanted a design with very fine lines and I felt this design would work the best. 

And I like the effect of sweet and edgy look. This, I can wear!

And this pale pink somewhat grew on me. I had this polish in Essie Spring collection mini set from last year. And being pink, I thought I might not use it at all. You never know... I might use it often from now on!

Happy Easter!

It's Easter time! I did my nails quickly while my turkey is in the oven.

I bought this Bundle Monster plate BM-302 just for the bunny out of an egg design! I think it's soooo cute!

For this look, I first painted my nails with Essie Cocktail Bling (blue grey) and Essie Just Stitched (pale pink). I stamped the bunny design, using BM-302 and Konad white stamping polish. I added a few silver gold dots in the center of flowers with Essie Jiggle Hi, Jiggle Low, using a dotting tool. I also used BM-710, BM-714, and BM-724 for various designs on other nails. 

My right hand with slightly different designs. 

I'm not sure if I like the overall look but this will do for our busy Easter weekend.

Robots in Love!

Do you know about my other obsession?? I like buying cute iphone cases. And I like matching my nails to them! You can see the examples here, here, and here.

I bought this case a while ago just before the Valentine's day and I thought it was cute!!! However... it didn't look cute once I put it on my phone...

I thought the heart would cover the apple and also you can see the writing at the lower part of phone, that is not so nice looking... 

It had the potential to look cute if my phone was black or if it wasn't transparent... Maybe... (I just put it over my black iphone 4 to see what it could look like...)

My iphone case was a fail but at least, I got an inspiration for my nail design! For this look, I first painted my nails with Essie Dress To Kilt (red) and Essie Urban Jungle (off white). I stamped a robot design from Bundle Monster plate BM-415 and a heart from BM-411 with OPI What's Your Point-settia? (red).  I painted over the heart with OPI Red Fingers & Mistletoes to give a little shimmer.

Modern Art in the City!

Let me show you what my beloved daughter did for me!

She did my nails beautifully! According to her, she wanted to create a feel of modern art and a bit of industrial theme. The end result - very sophisticated grown-up look!! I loooove it!!!

For this look, she first painted my nails with Essie Stylenomics (greenish black) and OPI French Quarter For Your Thoughts (grey). She used Bundle Monster plate BM-414 and stamped the city skyscraper with Essie Stylenomics and the pattern with Essie Jiggle Hi, Jiggle Low (silver gold). 

She changed up the color for my right hand. Excellent job with stamping the city skyscraper straight!

It was really nice to be pampered and having my nails done by my beloved daughter!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Happy St. Patrick's Day to you!  To be quite honest, I don't even have a drop of Irish blood in me... But I'm Irish in spirit on St. Pat's Day! 

To have some fun on this occasion, I made this rainbow decal! It took a loooong time to make it!! Look at the amount of polish it took to make this rainbow color!

For this look, I first painted my nails with OPI That's Hula-rious! (minty soft green) and Quo by Orly Green Meadow (bright jelly green). I stamped the clover design from Bundle Monster plate BM-723, using Chelsea Bridge Road (gold) as stamping polish. For the decal, I used the part of the design under the bicycle on Bundle Monster plate BM-704. I am still loving the Bundle Monster Secret Garden plate set! You can read my review here on these buffet-style plates! For the tutorial of decal making, check out this previous post! I don't think I need to list the names of the polish I used for the rainbow. I basically opened my polish drawer and picked up each color as I see fit! You can use any color you like for the decal and you don't even have to worry too much about how thick and pigmented they are. Just have fun with it!

For my right hand, I kept it simple and just used the clover stamp. Not just because it would be too labor intensive to make another decal, but more because I felt one decal accent was the way to go without looking like too much going on!

In the end, I'm not sure if the clover design and the rainbow decal would match the overall feel. But since I put such an effort on the decal, I'm sticking with it. And you know what? It started to grow on me!
